Chelsea Star Will Not Renew His Contract After His Representatives Met With Italy Side As Roma

The summer transfer window is a few months away and different clubs are looking to sign more players to add more reinforcement to their squads. Some will be allowing players who are considered surplus to requirements to leave. All clubs are expected to be busy in this summer transfer window.

Chelsea is one of the clubs that is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window just like the previous one. The Blues hierarchy wants to back the new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel after the German turned things around since his appointment at Stanford Bridge.

According to Italy Newspaper, Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud will not be extending his contract with the London club. This is after the Frenchman representatives met with As Roma two days ago.

Olivier Giroud has been limited to a few appearances after the emergence of Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner at Stanford Bridge. The 2018 World Cup winner was heavily linked with a move to Juventus in January but the move never materialized.

The 34-year-old and former Arsenal forward is still in Thomas Tuchel's plans but he will be looking to make a move to get more playing time ahead of the 2022 World Cup when he is expected to retire from international football.
