How the Kenya premier league may end this season
Kenya premier league resumed last weekend with a number of matches playing on Saturday while the rest played on Sunday.
However, looking at the table standings,Gormahia have only 25 points in 15 games, same number of matches as fc leopards who have 32 points. Tusker are the league leaders with 37 points out of 17 games. Gormahia and fc leopards have two games in hand.
As the league progresses, Kenya football federation may be forced to submit the leading team to the confederation of African football as Kenya's representative in the African championship.
The Kenya football federation has been given up-to 30th June to submit the name of its representative. As it stands, the Kenya premier league will have not ended at that time. The league was suspended for one month as a way of controlling the spread of corona virus.
It is evident that Gormahia may not win the Kenya premier league this season and it's dominance may be taken over by their arch rivals fc leopards. Considering the table standings ,Gormahia are currently at number six with twenty five points in fifteen matches while fc leopards are at number two with thirty two points in fifteen matches, two matches behind league leaders Tusker fc.
If Fc Leopards can manage to win their remaining matches, then they will be Kenya's representative in the African championship next season. The only thing to do for fc leopards is to ensure they win their two games in hand to lipfrog Tusker, they should lead the table by 30th June for their name to be submitted to the confederation of African football. Otherwise am not saying that the mighty Kogalo have no chance to change everything, they still have chances to even win the league.
