Hello there, Gunner. Here's what's going on at the Emirates.
William Saliba was one of Arsenal's standout players against Crystal Palace last weekend, and many expect him to do the same against Leicester. Much has been said about the returning Gunner, but William Gallas' revelation about the 21-year-old is exactly what Arsenal fans require.
"Saliba is a really good player. When I look at him, he reminds me of a player I used to play against—and that player is Rio Ferdinand. If you look at how Saliba plays and how Rio did when he was young, they have the same style," said Gallas.
Interestingly, Arsenal is eager to offer Saliba a new contract that reflects the Frenchman's importance to the club, talks are underway.
Arsenal, as per multiple reports, are keen to sign another winger to add options to their attack. In terms of Arsenal's winger search, Ben Jacobs believes Villarreal's Yeremy Pino is the player to watch. The 19-year-old is one of the most exciting prospects in Spanish football, and all indications point to Arteta's being interested in him.
"So that’s a factor, but unlike some of the other less-substance transfers that we’ve spoken about, the reason why I think Arsenal are a bit more confident in this is because they’re moving for the future, as per Marquinhos, but also, Villarreal are going to have to find income from somewhere," said Jacobs about Arsenal's move for Pino.
"So I would classify this one as one to watch and it could well move quickly."
