Rio Ferdinand Names Player To Blame Between Jorginho And Mendy After Chelsea Lost 3-2 To West Ham

Well, Chelsea suffered their second defeat of the season as they lost 3-2 to West Ham United. The Blues opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Thiago Silva. West Ham equalized through Lanzini who scored a penalty in the 40th minute. Mason Mount then scored Chelsea's second goal one minute before the half time break. However, Bowen equalized for West Ham in the 56th minute. Masauku scored West Ham's third goal which was the winning goal in the 87th minute.

West Ham's second goal came after Jorginho and Mendy made an error. Jorginho gave a short pass to Mendy who failed to clear the ball immediately. Mendy unfortunately fouled an opponent in the box which led to a penalty being given to West Ham. Well, football fans have been asking who is to blame between Jorginho and Mendy.

According to Rio Ferdinand, Mendy is the one to be blamed. Ferdinand has said that Mendy was trying to play 'perfect football' hence he is to be blamed. Ferdinand believes that Mendy could have cleared the ball when he had the opportunity.

Rio Ferdinand said;

"Mostly Mendy is to blame, he had plenty of opportunity to clear the ball. Jorginho leaves the short pass but the goalkeeper gets there and tries to play perfect football.

He gets another chance to clear it and it takes another touch then all of a sudden its panic stations and he gives a penalty."
