Diego Costa Returns To Football As Former Chelsea Star Agrees £40k-A-Week

Former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa has made a stunning return to football after it has been reported that the Spaniard has agreed on a 2-year deal with Atletico Mineiro where he will be earning £40k a week.

Diego Costa abruptly left Atletico Madrid last December and was yet to join any club until now. However, since Atletico Mineiro is based in Brazil, this means that Costa won't be playing in Europe.

Atletico Mineiro head coach Cuca was a huge advocate of the deal but director Rodrigo Caetano was the one credible for negotiating with the athlete behind the scenes.

Diego Costa will be linking up with players like Hulk and Eduardo Vargas and will be used as a reinforcement for the current leader of Brazil's top-flight.

Diego Costa played for both Atletico Madrid and Chelsea in Europe. With almost 6 months remaining on his contract, Diego Costa shockingly decided to leave Atletico Madrid for what was termed as 'personal reasons.'

There were interests from many clubs including Arsenal and Benfica but no agreement was ever reached.
