800 metre race is a highly contested race in the world. Here Kenya's kibet was leading until the Ethiopian took over for position one. True, Kibet was closed in a Conner that he wouldn't have escaped from it to win the gold.
The Ethiopian failed to mark Wanyonyi, From number three he came up to beat the two leaders. By the time he realised Wanyonyi was coming and wanted to cover him from winning, it was late.
Wanyonyi who opened the last minute speed beat the two to be number one. It was prestigious to win the gold for Kenya.
Kibet came third winning Kenya bronze. The 2021 under 20 championship is a blessing to he country. Being held for the first time in East Africa, Kenya leads with a total of 13 medals so far. The tournament will come to an end by today in the evening.
Kipkurui also won Gold for Kenya in 1500 metres race, while chepkosgei stormed with the silver medal.
