Blessings Galore As Kenyan Olympics Star Is Rewarded With Lucrative Government Job

Just days after returning from the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics games, Ferguson Rotich has seen his star continue to shine after he was awarded a job by the Kericho county government following his exploits in Japan.

Kenya was the highest placed African country in terms of the medal standings as they bagged three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals after a stuttering start to the games.

Ferguson Rotich brought one of the silver medals to the country when he competed in the 800 meters race and on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, Governor Paul Chepkwony recognized this achievement.

The Kericho County government boss named the 31-year-old as the Goodwill ambassador in the fight against Drugs and Substance Abuse in the county.

"The 2020 Tokyo Olympic 800m silver medalist, Ferguson Rotich appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the fight against Drugs and Substance abuse in Kericho County. Governor Paul Chepkwony made the appointment after receiving the athlete in his office today," Kericho County wrote on their social media page.
