France is one of the top consistent national teams in football. They have have managed to dorminate both continental and international competitions like the FIFA World Cup. Currently they are in the quarter finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Here is how they have replaced their former best players in the current squad.
1. David Trezeguet - He played as a striker from 1998 to 2008. He has been replaced by Karim Benzema at the France national team.

2. Thierry Henry - He was the France national team best playmaker. Kylian Mbappe has replaced him in the team. Mbappe has scored 5 goals and gave 2 assists in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

3. Patrick Vieira - His creativity in the midfield has been taken over by Paul Pogba who plays as a central midfielder.

4. Zinedine Zidane - He has been replaced by Antoine Griezmann as the attacking midfielder in the team.

5. Claude Makelele - He is one of the best central defensive midfielders in football history. N'golo Kante is currently the main central defensive midfielder for France national team.
