Harambee stars defender Joseph Okumu had been impressive for his club. The Belgium based player previously played for Swedish club IF Elfsborg where he developed into a top player. His performances earned him a move to KAA Gent.
After missing his club's last two games, Okumu made a comeback in last night game. Gent were playing their 2nd UEFA conference league game against Anorthosis Famagusta FC where they won by 2 goals. Okumu played the entire game despite coming back from Injury.
He was a doubt for Harambee stars ahead of the double tie against Mali. Fortunately, it means he will be back fully fit and ready to play for the National team. Despite having a good performance yesterday, Okumu got himself in trouble after getting booked. Okumu picked up a yellow card after fouling Denis Popovic in the 84th minute.
Gent will now be preparing to face Antwerp in a league game. We hope Okumu will maintain the good form when he turns out for Harambee stars next week. Their goals came in the 28th and 81st minute of the game yesterday.
