William Saliba earns Ligue 1 Young Player Of The Year Award Ahead Of Arsenal Return

France International and Arsenal defender current a loanee at Marseille William Saliba has secured Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Year award after having an impressive loan spell with the French side Marseille in the 2021/22 campaign.

The youngster joined the North London club in 2019 at a fee of £ 27 million from Saint-Etienne. The 21 year old however is yet to make a senior first-team appearance for Mikel Arteta's side.

The French International central defender joined the French side last summer and he has been nothing short of phenomenal for the side.

Saliba was awarded the Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Year yesterday evening ahead of Arsenal return. The youngster has revealed his ambition of fighting for his place at Arsenal. The central defender came first ahead of the likes of Arnaud Kalimuendo and Nuno Mendes of PSG, Lyon's Castello Lukeba, and Nice's midfielder Khephren Thuram.
