Chelsea star player and Germany International Timo Werner has finally breaks his silence on the main reason why he didn't Stepped Up, for penaltie shootout during the EFL clash with Aston villa, despite him playing the whole session without being substituted. The German Machine opened up the score in 52th minutes, but despite being a good penalty taker during his brighter days at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, the German international revealed a mere excuse why he didn't gather enough courage to step up for penalty decision.
While giving his explanation to Germany Sport Bild he said:
"I had pain in my calf but with only three substitutes, I couldn't go off."But when you have fit players on the pitch, it's better they shoot than me today."
Werner has been used mostly this season ever since Romelu Lukaku made a record breaking return, during this summer transfer window, and there's a possibility that Tuchel is looking to play him alongside the Belgian in the rare future.
