Ngolo Kante could make a surprise start for the Blues against Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman has been on the sidelines for two months but is now ready to hit the ground running against the Bundesliga juggernauts. This comes days after he recently settled the final details of his contract extension with the Blues.
“Ngolo Kante has been responding well in training for the past couple of weeks. The medical team and the coaching staff believe that he will be 100% fit to start the match against BVB. His agent is confident that the 31 year old still has a lot to offer to the club despite immense interest from other clubs for a free move in the summer,” reported Ian Baker.

Kante’s return has however not done enough to guarantee that Chelsea will be a tough side next season with regard to the midfield since Matteo Kovacic has been lined with a move to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola is anticipating the exit of Ilkay Gundogan in the summer as a free agent and the only way to replace such a high caliber player is by signing a player nearly as impressive as him. The Spaniard tactician sees Kovacic is that ideal replacement.

Meanwhile, the club is planning on making David Zakaria a permanent acquisition in the summer. The board is convinced that the 24 year old is the perfect reinforcement in Midfield Incase any other current players leave the club in June. Zakaria is ready to switch sides in the but the only problem is that Juventus are anticipating the exit of Adrien Rabiot and an immediate replacement has to be sought.

Chelsea’s problems are slowly fading one by one and it’s only a matter of time until Potter gets the chance to turn the situation around. The manager has been self critical in recent Game weeks and a win against BVB will probably give his side the much needed breathing space and supports from the fans.
