Chelsea will be without three first-team players when they travel to Villa Park on Sunday. Reece James is one of the players missing after suffering an injury against Milan in midweek.
According to Graham Potter, the wingback will see a specialist for the injury this weekend, which means he will not be available for selection against Aston Villa. Reece James has made excellent attacking and defensive contributions for Chelsea, and his absence will be felt greatly. Because Potter will be without the influential James on the wing, he will have to revert to a back four formation, and Azpilicueta will fill in.
Nonetheless, Potter can still play with a back three, with Ruben Loftus-check providing width. Under Graham Potter, the English star has been outstanding, and versatility has been a key component of his game. Potter has used him in a fluid role in which he plays as a wing-back off the ball and as a box midfielder in possession, and he has excelled.
