Bukhungu Stadium is located in Kakamega county. It is an international standard stadium that has a capacity to accommodate many people. The stadium in most cases is used to hold political rallies, cultural events and sporting activities.
Currently, the CS for Sports and Youth Affairs Hon. Ababu Namwamba and the Kakamega County governor Hon. Fernandes Barasa has organized for football tournament that will go on for days at the Bukhungu Stadium.
Governor Fernandes Barasa and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba today graced the Elijah Lidonde Football Tournament at Bukhungu Stadium.
The tournament which will go on for days at the stadium has been organized by the two leaders mainly for the purpose of identification and nurturing raw talents of youths in Kakamega county.
About 498 teams are participating in Lidonde Football Tournament. Girls and boys who are under 17 years of age will get a golden opportunity to showcase their football talents. In addition, boys who are under 15 years will also participate in the football match.
