"Arsenal Were Better" Guardiola Gives Honest Opinion About Man City's Win Over Gunners

Manchester City extended their winning streak in the English Premier League on New Year's Day, taking all three points against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City took all three points against Arsenal thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Rodrigo in the second half.

After the game, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola gave an honest assessment of the game, noting that although winning all three points, the North London side was the better side.

Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, told BT Sport: "Arsenal were superior. We face a team that has struggled to finish in the top four in recent years. This season begins at the bottom, bottom, bottom.

"We have two days after beating Norwich, they have six. It was quite difficult for us to return. We were completely exhausted. That is why we added a player in the middle to gain more control and passes. We all know how difficult adjustments and physicality can be. And it wasn't easy. We attempted, and within one minute, we had a penalty and a red card.

"We analyze a lot of stuff, but occasionally the coin falls on your side. We understand what it takes to beat Arsenal in this situation. We can finally relax now."
