Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue is known to be one of the famous Africans to play in the premier league.

However Eboue was in the news a couple of years for being broke after a bitter divorce with his British wife Aurelie Bertrand.
This is after involved in a legal battle with his white wife Aurelia where he found himself on the losing side and ultimately had to give up some of his assets.
Also after the battle, he lost all his kids to his white wife.

The former Ivorian international had previously admitted that his "rags-to-riches" journey had left him at times contemplating death after living on the streets as a beggar, sleeping on a friend's floor, and doing all of his laundry by hand since he couldn't afford a washing machine.
Eboue’s ‘investments,’ other than in his white wife, were in false friends and fast cars. He didn’t even bother to invest in himself, by going to school, even after he got money.
