The AFC Leopards' defense is in bad shape, as evidenced by last weekend's 3-1 thrashing by the Kariobangi Sharks. Injuries have been a contributing factor in these battles.
Coach Aussems is expected to have two of his dependable defenders back, which is encouraging. Telsian Esilaba, a stalwart center back, has returned to training, while Lewis Bandi is two weeks away from returning.
Coach Aussems should use Elisaba, a tough defender, as the defensive upgrade he needs to continue his unbeaten streak while Ingwe tries to salvage the current league season
In Bandi's absence, coach Aussems has turned to Collins Shivachi, but Shivachi was also unavailable last weekend due to injury. Ingwe has also been playing Prince Busaka in place of Bandi, but Busaka is still establishing himself at Ingwe, and there is a general consensus that no one owns that position quite like Bandi.
Bandi said this about his recovery, as reported by Mozzart Sports:
"I have been nursing an ankle injury for some time, but at least I am getting better. The doctor's report says that I will be fully fit in two weeks' time. The affected ankle has troubled me for quite some time, but I believe I will be injury free going forward. "
