Bruno Fernandez has been one of the best midfielders in Europe since he joined Manchester United back in 2020 January. He helped them to reach Europa League final during 2020-2021 seasons. He also helped them to finish second in the Premier League table during that season.
The Portuguese surprised many when he finished the 2020-2021 season with 18 goals five behind top scorer Harry Kane. His great passing skills made him to easily unlock solid defences and created multiples chances.
However last season he struggled to pick up from where he left the previous season. His poor run last season made United to finish sixth in the Premier League table.
This season, one of the player who might give him a tough competition is Christian Eriksen. Eriksen is also considered as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe following his good record in the Premier League.
He has played a total of 236 Premier League games for Tottenham and Brentford and has managed to score 52 goals and grabbed 72 assist. Eriksen great skills and vision helped makes him an exceptional midfielder.
Last season he was one of the players who created the most chances in the Premier League during his time at Brentford. It's only Kelvin De Bruyne and Martin Odegaard who created most chances than the Danish attacking midfielder.
In his first Premier League match against Brighton Albion for Manchester United last weekend he was one of the players who impressed despite their 2-1 defeat. Eriksen top perfomance proved he might be of great help to Manchester United this season under their new manager Erik Ten Hag.
This now means that Christian Eriksen might give Bruno Fernandez a tough competition this season.
