Chelsea Player Who Proved Could Give Thiago Silva A Tough Competition

Chelsea beat Villarreal on penalties to win the UEFA Super cup finals. The club performed well through the entire 120 minutes. Thomas Tuchel surprisingly left out one of his best centers back Thiago Silva out of the starting lineup and opted for Trevoh Chalobah.

This was his first competitive match for The Blue. He was solid, composed, and made good clearances, and won aerial battles denying Villarreal striker any clear scoring chance.

He made 2 tackles, 5 interceptions, clearances, and duels. He made 147 and 140 touches and passes respectively. Chalobah had a passing accuracy of 95 percent. This is a brilliant personal performance for the young defender. In addition to that, he did not commit a foul or receive a booking in the entire 120 minutes.

The young defender lack experience a should be given more game time next season. Very soon he will replace Thiago Silva because he has more pace than Silva.
