Why Arsenal Might Fail To Win The Premier League Despite Big Win Over Tottenham Yesterday

Arsenal defeated their longtime North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur by a 2-1 scoreline to go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners who have been favorites to win the English Premier League title dominated the match against Antonio Conte's men.

The visitors went ahead 14 minutes into the match from an own goal from Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who couldn't stop Bukayo Saka's amazing shot from a tight angle. Arsenal didn't take any time to find the second goal of the match through Martin Odegaard to give them an advantage in the match.

In the second half, Tottenham looked more lively in the game and they had a couple of good chances in the match but they couldn't get a goal. Arsenal on the other hand also had some decent chances in the game but they failed to score their third goal of the match.

The win saw Mikel Arteta go on 47 points in the league table after playing 18 matches and they extended the gap with their closest rivals Manchester City. Arsenal has been the favorite team to become the 2022/23 Premier League champions after their brilliant run so far this season.

However, they might fail to win the Premier League as they are only 8 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City and nine ahead of Manchester United who are fourth. They will play Manchester and Manchester City in the coming weeks and if they will lose both matches they could fail to win the league.

Arsenal will play Erik Ten Hag's men on Sunday and they are yet to face Manchester City in the Premier League this season. These matches will be crucial for Mikel Arteta and if he will win he might end up losing the Premier League.
