Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Preview, Team News and Possible Lineups

Pep Guardiola's side Manchester City will be hoping to bouncing back to winning ways when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad after a shock 1-0 defeat to Liverpool last week.

The 1-0 defeat at Anfield marked Manchester City's first defeat of the season. Brighton on the other hand were held to a goalless draw at the Ammex stadium against Nottingham Forest on their midweek fixture.

City have now failed to put a goal past the opponents goal in their last two matches including their goalless draw in Champions League against Copenhagen and their most recent 1-0 defeat at A field courtesy of Mohammed Salah.

City will be desperate to winning all three points as league leaders Arsenal are four points ahead of them. The Citizens are ruthless at their backyard having win their last 12 games at home and scoring 51 goals in the process.

A win for City means that they would be become the second team in English top-flight history to register 10 successive home wins after Aston Villa who won 12 games at home between March and December 1897, and a 13 home games between December 1930 and September 1931.

Brighton on the other hand have failed to score any goal past their opponent in their last three games. De Zebro is yet to see his side clinch a win since taking over as head coach from Graham Potter last month. This has seen Brighton drop to the eighth position from the top four spot, five points behind the fourth placed Chelsea.

Brighton face a hard test at the Etihad having lost 10 of their 12 visits to trips. They have rippled the net twice and have conceded 21 goals.
