Chelsea Secure Crucial Points After Beating Stubborn Aston Villa

Chelsea Fc secured crucial three points at Villa Park after their hard-worked victory against stubborn Aston Villa.

Aston Villa took an early lead after being on the receiving end from Chelsea players in terms of ball position and pressure.

Kortney Hause took Aston Villa ahead in the 43rd minute after a well-placed cross by their creative players Jack Grealish.

Chelsea defenders were unable to clear the ball from their box after Kepa Arrizabalaga made a fantastic save to deny Villa an easy goal.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard made two key substitutions which bore fruit. Christian Pulisic and Ross Barkley made an immediate impact after coming on for Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus Cheek.

Christian Pulisic brought Chelsea level in the 61st minute from a cool finish that was orchestrated by captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Oliver Giroud made it 2-1 in the 62nd minute after a good one-two between him and Mason Mount before putting the ball past the Aston Villa goalkeeper.

This will be a big relief from Chelsea's Frank Lampard who was not in fine form before the Premier League break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This results now put them ahead of their bitter rivals Manchester United in the English Premier League standings by 5 points.

Manchester United have garnered a total of 46 points so far after drawing against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspurs.

However, Frank Lampard will be hosting Pep Guardiola's side in their next fixtures who will be looking to close the gap between them and Liverpool Fc.
