Partey’s Goal Sets Arsenal Record That No Other Arsenal Player Will Break This Season

Arsenal moved to ninth in the premier league table after a deserved 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. The Gunners who are now unbeaten in seven games had registered back to back uninspiring draws against Crystal Palace and Brighton but returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Friday evening.

Their opening goal came from Thomas Partey through a well-taken corner kick by Smith Rowe. The Ghanaian midfielder who had been desperately looking for his first Arsenal goal with fierce long-range shots, scored from close range to give Mikel Arleta’s side a lead in the 23rd minute. After that goal, Partey became the first-ever Ghanaian player to score for Arsenal. This record will not be broken this season as there is no any other Ghanaian in the senior Arsenal squad. Emmanuel Frimpong and Quincy Owusu played for the Gunners but did not score any goals at the senior level.
