Chelsea have done well to sign some top quality players, but it’s now time for the club to look inwards and ensure that the key players are retained.
The success of the Chelsea team is tied to the impact of the new players and the experienced players, as there has been a fine blend between experience and youth in the team. However, that fine blend is in danger, as some top Chelsea players are nearing the end of their contracts.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho would have a year left on their contract at the end of the season. These are six players that played a key role in helping Chelsea win the Champions League last season.
The aforementioned players are the core of the squad, and the club must make sure that their contracts are sorted out as soon as possible.
According to reports, Chelsea are close to sealing a new deal for Christensen, while the club is working hard to ensure Rudiger stays. Rudiger is being targeted by Bayern Munich, PSG and Juventus, but Chelsea must keep the German machine.
