Kenyan Men's Football side, The Harambee stars went ahead to get a hard fought for 2-1 win against their sister nation and archrivals, Tanzania, as the two sides locked horns in an interesting match that was played in Nyayo Stadium Monday afternoon. Despite the fact that there were no fans to cheer due to the Ministry of Health Guidelines on Covid-19 control measures in the sporting world, the game lived to its expectations as both teams showcased quite a solid performance altogether.
Harambee stars opened the scores through Eric Kapaito's goal at the 21st minute then shortly afterwards Tanzania equalised with a late first half goal at the 39th minute through their front man Ayubu Lyanga. The 1-1 goal deadlock then saw both teams head to the dressing rooms as Harambee Star's Head Coach, 'Ghost' Mulee joined his boys to share on what he had seen in the first half giving them technical support for the fixture. The second half was more dominated by Harambee stars in terms of ball play and possession, something that gave forth to the wining goal at the 58th minute through Harambee Star's Abdalla Hassan.
Reacting to the win, Harambee Star's Captain Muguna, as pictured above, posted a spirited message to his Fellow teammates congratulating them for the win and urged them to stay focused for the return match on Thursday as they sharpened their skills for qualifier matches for the Afcon Cup championship.
