World Cup is set to take place next year. The event which happens one time in five years will be hosted in Qatar. The prize of this year’s World Cup will shock you. It is 19 times higher than the initial cost of the 2018. The initial cost of the 2018 World Cup was $11.6 billion.
$220 billion will be used to facilitate next years World Cup.
Building 12 new air conditioned stadium for the games to be played in will cost around $48 billion.
$77 bill will go at developing the facilities for football players and fans. $50 billion will be used to upgrade Qatar transportation infrastructure and ensure flow of movement during the event. Out of the $220 billion, $45 billion will be used to develop a new city named ‘Lusail’. When you compare next year’s World Cup with the previous two events, the difference is shocking. It exceeds the 2014 initial cost by 14.6 times and it will cost 61 times more higher than the initial cost of the 2010 event.
