Bayern Munich v Lazio
On Wednesday night, Champions League holders Bayern Munich continue the defence of their crown when they entertain Lazio at the Allianz Arena. Bayern ran out big winners in Rome in the first leg and we can’t see the Italians getting close to turning the tie around.
Hans-Dieter Flick’s Bavarians ran riot in the Stadio Olimpico, with Robert Lewandowski, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane on target in a superb 4-1 win. Munich’s job is all but done but Flick will be looking for another victory on Wednesday.
Predictions: Bayern Munich win.
Chelsea v Atletico Madrid
Tuchel’s Chelsea and Simeone’s Atleti lock horns at Stamford Bridge in a mouth-watering Champions League match on Wednesday. After an excellent win at the Arena Nationala in February, the Blues are in pole position to go through but they don’t have a lot of breathing space, and it’ll be a tough night if the visitors manage to find an early goal.
Olivier Giroud has been Chelsea’s hero in Europe this season and the Frenchman’s goal in Bucharest gave the Londoners a 1-0 lead in the tie. The Spanish giants will not go down without a fight but a draw would be enough to take Chelsea through.
Predictions: Chelsea win.
