Manchester United went against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon in their 6th Premier League game this season.
After ending in a 0-0 draw in the first half, Aston Villa got a late winner in the second half to walk home with all three points. Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause headed home Douglas Luiz's corner in the 88th minute to give Aston Villa the win.
However, Manchester United had a big chance to get an equalizer in the 92nd minute after Kortney Hause handled the ball in the box forcing the referee to award Manchester United a penalty.
Many expected Manchester United's new signing Cristiano Ronaldo to step up and take the penalty but it was Bruno Fernandes who was handed the task. Bruno Fernandes shockingly hit the ball over the bar meaning Aston Villa would walk home with all the points.
However, it has been revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo asked to take the penalty but was ignored by Bruno Fernandes who wanted to take the penalty himself. It is said Paul Pogba then asked Ronaldo to let Bruno take the penalty before Fernandes went on to miss it.
