Coutinho leaves Barcelona in desperation after Liverpool failed transfer

29-year-old desires to leave the Serie A side this summer and is using his refusal to turn up to pre-season as a tactic to force a move through.

Coutinho been a relative success at Barcelona, there would have been an argument that Liverpool, at £143m, would have negotiated a good deal.

Speaking in a press conference, Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri said: “Luis Alberto did not respond to a call, it’s a managerial and corporate problem."

Coutinho’s fate in Spain has been so bad, and Barcelona’s economy is so bad caused in large part by reckless spending for the Brazilian and many others in the transfer market that a loss of $ 125million sterling on transfer fees for the 29 player now considered best-case scenario.

As it stands, Barca are unable to register their new players because they have already exceeded La Liga’s wage cap. They have brought in Memphis Depay, Emerson, Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia, but, unless something changes, they won’t be able to play.

Now Barcelona are desperately trying to get rid of players to reduce their wage bill.

The club was seemingly on the brink of an incredible takeover that threatened to take the Magpies to financial heights that were out of this world.

Barcelona desperately need to sell players like Coutinho. Newcastle desperately need a conclusion to the takeover saga.
