Winger Prodigy Explains To Arteta Why He Should Start Arsenal's Next Premier League Game

Emile Smith Rowe last played for Arsenal in a 3-1 loss to Manchester United on September 4th. Since then, the Englishman has been hospitalised with a groin injury. Last season, the midfielder, who can also play as a winger, performed admirably. He had 10 goals and two assists in 33 league games.

His statistics from last season only emphasise how important he is to Arteta's project. Arteta may be in a better position to maintain the PL title race if he is fit when the league resumes. Hopefully, this is the case, as the 22-year-old has stated that he may be able to play against West Ham on Boxing Day when Arsenal return to Premier League action. "Hopefully by the first game back after the World Cup," said Smith Rowe (about his injury return).

"I am actually out here doing my rehab. Today was my day off. I am back training tomorrow. I am back on the pitch. So it’s going well."

Gabriel Martinelli has been impressive on Arsenal's left wing, but the fact that he has had no reliable backup due to Smith Rowe's injury has many Gunners concerned; with Smith Rowe's return, Arsenal's left wing would be in safe hands.
