Gunners were keen on both Pepe and Zaha throughout the summer of 2019 with former manager Unai Emery favouring a move for the latter insisting he would adapt to life at Arsenal easier because of his premier league experience.
The 28 years old Ivorian forward has been a star footballer for Palace in recent campaign and his fine form has often seen him being linked heavily with both Arsenal and Chelsea.Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has also made a huge claim about the Wilfried Zaha transfer situation. He admits that Wilfred wants Uefa Champions league football which has put big clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal and Chelsea will be playing in the Champions League next campaign, but eyebrows will no doubt be raised on Roy Hodgson's quotes.
"I think when the market opens up again Wilfred Zaha will again be a name on many managers and sporting directors' lips and Wilfred will retain his ambitions of playing champions league football and doing things we have not been able to give him while he has been playing here"
"But am hoping and believing that the club will be still trying to persuade him that what he needs to get out of football he can get here and how that will pan out?I couldn't say," Hodgson said.
"He is good enough to play in other clubs, but also he is a player we would really like to keep here because he has been so important to us and he is very important to all the fans and everyone around the club"
Arsenal fans will be willing to see the board fund Mikel Arteta in order to bring in the experienced striker in their club.
