Five Cars Belonging To Footballers Set On Fire After Defeat

After suffering a 2-0 loss to rival Godoy Cruz, members of the Aldosivi soccer team from Argentina's first division set fire to their personal vehicles.

The event happened on Thursday at Mar del Plata, which is located 250 miles (400 kilometers) south of Buenos Aires. The vehicles were parked at the club's practice facility.

Players from Aldosivi, who are increasingly in danger of being demoted from Argentina's top division, left their automobiles in the parking lot before traveling to nearby Mendoza for the game.

With eight points after 13 rounds, Aldosivi sits in 27th and second-to-last place in the Argentine championship.

According to the city's fire service, five cars that belonged to players and coaching staff member Leandro Somoza were set ablaze.
