Heavy Police Presence as Nick Mwendwa is Presented to Court on Monday Morning

When he was brought to court on Monday morning, Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa was under a heavy police escort.

He was presented to court by officers drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations after a weekend long of investigations on him over the management of FKF during his reign as president.

Among the issues that he will be investigated on is misappropriation of public funds that had been given to the federation by the government which is said to be spanning years since his election into the federation.

After having conducted sone preliminary investigations, it was allegedly confirmed that Nick Mwendwa had some questionable grounds that required him to be investigated further.

On Tuesday, the government through Cabinet Secretary for Sports Amina Mohamed constituted a caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the federation for a period of six months before elections are held to elect new members.

Retired judge Aaron Ringera was appointed as the chairperson of the committee with other members Joseph Masiga, John 'Bobby' Ogolla, Fatma Adan, Philip Musyimi, Anthony Isayi, Elisha Kiplagat, Hassan Haji, Fredrick Tureisa, Mwangi Muthee, Neddy Atieno, Ali Amour, Titus Kasuve, Moses Oyugi, and Richard Omwela.
