Dundee United get their first taste of European competition this season in this semi-final stage of the Europa Conference League qualification matches. At least they got some action in the Scottish Premiership where they drew their opening game 1-1 against Kilmarnock. Dundee United have managed only one win in their last 5 games.
Dutch side AZ Alkmaar qualified for this semi-final tie by eliminating Tuzla City from Bosnia and Herzegovina 5-0 on aggregate after winning both legs. This marked their fourth straight win in all competitions and they will approach this game brimming with confidence.
Both teams have not been really prolific of late. Dundee United managed only 5 goals in their last 5 games. AZ Alkmaar are only slightly better with 7 goals in their last 5 games. As a result, we expect a low-scoring game, especially in the first half before the game opens up.
