£81m Arsenal transfer dream in doubt as Mikel Arteta delivers Nicolas Pepe's verdict.

There have been speculations with the gunners to let loose of their right winger Nicholas Pepe. The £72m man who arrived from league 1side Lille back in 2019, has so far failed to impress to the level expected.

His failure to step up his game has culminated to him warming the bench with Arteta deploying Emile Smith Rowe on the left flank with Bukayo Saka on the right. With Arsenal limited to few games this season ,after falling off from European football when they occupied 8th spot, it means minutes are hard to come by for the Arsenal side and Pepe has been on the receiving end.

Even if he has failed to feature in Arsenal's starting eleven, Mikel Arteta is still confident with the Ivorian and is keen to keep him. When asked if Arsenal might let Pepe depart in January during his pre- match conference Arteta said, "No, and it is not the moment to talk about that either."

"We are interested in Nico performing at the level that he can do. He had really good moments since I have been here ,some moments where he hasn't participated that much, like everybody else. "

With Mikel interest in Pepe it means Arsenal will not be selling him this January alongside other reported departures that could garnered Edu more than £81m.

Do you think it will be a food idea if Arsenal resolved to selling Nicolas Pepe?
