Kenyan international striker Jesse Were was on target for his Zambian side, Zesco United in their match against Kabwe Warriors. This is Were's first goal of the season having missed a penalty previously.
The first half of the match ended in stalemate but Zesco United came back strong in the second half netting their first goal in the 54th minute after Kampamba's corner was headed in by Solomon Sakala.
However, goalkeeper Ian Otieno missed today's match; he also missed Harambee Stars' second leg match against Mali in Nairobi.
Zesco United have recorded their third win of the season after playing four matches. They are fourth on the Zambian Super League with 9 points, 7 points behind leaders Green Buffaloes who have played two extra games.
