"I Wanted Out" Former Arsenal Star Speaks About Controversial Exit From The EPL After Poor Spell

Former Arsenal and Brazilian star, Willian did not have the best spell at the Emirates Stadium after he made a surprise switch from Chelsea in the summer of 2020.

Arsenal hoped that Willian will offer them the best as they gave him a three years contract on a £220K per week salary, making him one of the best paid players at the club.

However, his spell was full of drama as he managed to score one goal and provide six assists only as well as start in 16 English Premier league matches.

Willian managed to get a switch from Arsenal to Corinthians after the struggling EPL club terminated his contract which could have cost them £20 million.

Speaking about his time at the Emirates Stadium on TV Corinthians, Willian stated that he was very unhappy at Arsenal which made him rethink about a transfer.

Willian stated: "I really thought a lot, together with my family and close people.

Unfortunately, my time at Arsenal was not good. I wasn't happy at the club.

I don't need to go into details, but I wasn't happy, and I thought that returning to Brazil was the best option."

This is a big confession, but the player made a good decision for the good of his career which was stalling in North London.
