The Olympics Trials which were to be held at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret will now be hosted by Kasarani Stadium instead. This was announced by Athletics Kenya.
The event had initially been planned to take place in Eldoret but Athletics Kenya announced that they came to this decision since it will provide a nice opportunity to test the systems and equipment at Kasarani Stadium in preparation for the World Athletics Under-20 Championships. This championship will take place in August 17 and 18 at the Kasarani Stadium.
The Olympics Trials are set for June 17 to 19.
The trial will be done by athletes who have passed the anti doping tests. This will also give them an opportunity to assess their capability.
Kenya being a country many Athletics champions has been favoured to host such a a important event. We are hoping that the stadium equipment will be found good to host the Under 20 Championship in August.
