After one and half years trophy draught, Olunga's club Al Duhail is finally back with a trophy after clinching the 2022 Amir Cup title.Al Duhail ran victorious after a massive 5-1 win over Al Gharafa in the final match staged on Friday night.Al Duhail had reached the Cup finals after a 3-2 victory over their close rivals Al Sadd in the semi finals in a match which Kenya national team captain Michael Olunga bagged a goal and an assist.
In Friday's final, Al Duhail opened the scoring in the 5th minute through E.Junior before Olunga added the second goal in the 13th minute.Ali added the third for Al Duhail in the 52nd minute before A.Alaaeldin response with a goal for Al Gharafa a minute later.Sassi and A.Moustafa rapped it up for Al Duhail with a goal each in the 58th and 85th minutes respectively.
