ARSENAL VS OLYMPIAKOS.
Olympiacos produced a major shock when they beat Arsenal on their last visit to the Emirates a year ago, and while a repeat of that upset on Thursday is unlikely, the evidence suggests the Greeks can trade blows with their more illustrious hosts.
The Gunners carry a comfortable 3-1 lead into this week’s Last 16 second-leg tussle after their triumph in Greece seven days ago, and that was the seventh time in eight fixtures involving Arsenal where both teams scored.
Olympiacos meanwhile, have scored at least once in each of their last 24 matches in all competitions, and both teams found the net in nine of the most recent ten of those contests.
With just record of just one clean sheet.
Prediction:Arsenal to win.
SHAKTAR DONETSK VS ROMA.
Roma will start Thursday’s Last 16 second-leg tie in total command having built a healthy 3-0 lead in their first meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk last week, though the Italian giants could struggle to keep a clean sheet in the teams’ second encounter.
Shakhtar deserved to notch at least once in Italy seven days ago, though the Ukrainian outfit were thwarted by a series of superb saves from Roma stopper Pau Lopez.
The Miners, who rattled four goals past Desna at the weekend, should be able to impact the scoresheet this time around, though keeping Roma out at the other end should prove just as difficult as it did in the first-leg.
Prediction:Roma to win.
