Good News As Kenyan Footballer Is Set To Join A Top French Club

Barely two months after her links to different French clubs alongside her Harambee Starlets counterpart Terry Engesha, Vihiga Queens goalkeeper Lilian Awuor Onyango is finally set to join French top tier women league club ASJ Soyaux Charente.Lilian is set to jet out of the country for France on Monday 17th January so as to complete her move.

ASJ Soyaux Charente is a ladies professional football club that plays in France top flight league (Division 1 Feminine). Founded in 1968, the club was relegated once in 2010 but soon gained promotion back into the top tier in 2013.They are one time Division 1 Feminine champions after their title win in 1984.Over the past season, they finished 10th on the league table.

Lilian impressed in the CAF Women Champions League which was held in Cairo.She went on to clinch a women of the match award in Vihiga Queens loss to South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.She debuted for the national women football team Harambee Starlets in 2021 in a Africa Women Cup Of Nations (AWCON) qualifier match against South Sudan.
