Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said COVID-19 vaccine due in Kenya on Tuesday next week. The vaccine to be administered first to health workers. Next month the president will make decision about the curfew and other restrictions in place.
The COVID-19 numbers in Kenya is not looking good at the moment with a slowly and steadily rising curve of daily new confirmed cases being recorded of late, whereby last week had the highest weekly numbers for this year and positivity rate also staying upwards of 5-7%
There has been a gradual increase in the prevalence of non communicable diseases namely obesity,diabetes ,hypertension,arthritis and cancers in Kenya over time
The Covid-19 in the country has just worsened the situation as the non-Coronavirus patients are getting less attention in clinics and hospitals their numbers are increasing, hospitalization is increasing, deaths are increasing, testing positivity rate is increasing compliance with public health protocol is dwindling.
