Liverpool Star Who Proved Jurgen Klopp Wrong For Benching Him After Yesterday's UCL Match

Liverpool were held to a pulsating 3-3 draw by Portuguese heavyweights Benfica in the 2nd leg of their champions league quarter final clash at Anfield last night, but Jurgen Klopp's men managed to ease through to the semi final of the competition with a 6-4 win on aggregate.

The Reds opened the scoring in the 21st minute as Ibrahima Konate jumped high to head home from a Konstantinos' corner, before Goncalo Ramos leveled proceedings in the 32nd minute to force a 1-1 draw at halftime. Diego Jota combined well with Roberto Firmino to restore the hosts lead in the 55th minute, shortly after the Brazilian added his 2nd of the night & Liverpool's 3rd. The visitors however rallied back & scored two quick goals, with Roman Rayemchuk & Darwin Nunez strikes earning Benfica a well deserved share of the spoils.

Konstantinos Tsimikas produced an outstanding performance in that match. The Greece international was a real menace to Benfica's defenders in the right flank, with his excellent footwork & good deliveries in the box. He provided 2 assists in that match & he remained brilliant both defensively & offensively throughout the game.

The 25 year old has been warming the Liverpool bench this term, as boss Jurgen Klopp has often favoured to deploy Andrew Robertson in the left back role. However after his top notch Performance yesternight, Tsimikas has proved that he can really help Liverpool in their quest to win a quadrapule this campaign, if he is given more playing time.
