Arsenal has been dealt with a big blow ahead of their match against relegation-threatened side, Sheffield United, on Sunday at Bramall Lane. It will be their 31st match of the Premier League as they look to finish their season in a respectable position.
According to Mail Online Sports, Arsenal are going to miss the services of their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has been reported to have contracted flu. Another player is Emile Smith Rowe who is nursing a nagging knee injury.
Aubameyang started on the bench in their last game in Europa League against Slavia Prague at Emirates Stadium, a move that raised more questions on whether the manager has decided to freeze their highest-paid player.
He was later introduced in place of Alexandre Lacazette and he was the architect of the goal that was slotted in by Nicolas Pepe.
The Gabonese form has been on dwindling since the start of the season where he has bagged just 9 goals in 23 matches he has featured in, a low goal-scoring record since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund several seasons ago.
The weekend match will be of great importance as a win will take them two places up the table at position 9. They will also be preparing for a return leg against the Czechs club on Thursday, April 16th.
