Multi-Million Dandora FIFA Standard Stadium to Host International Matches (Photos)

Even as Counties work towards the construction of ultramodern stadia, Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has finally revealed amazing photos of the Dandora FIFA standard stadium that is nearing completed in what many Kenyans have referred to one of the best projects by the Nairobi county boss.

Governor Sonko has revealed that the new stadium that is located in Embakasi North constuency in Dandora's phase 3 area has met all standards requited by the Federation of International Football Association hence will host both local and international football matches.

"We're finalizing the construction of the new Dandora Stadium in Embakasi North Sub-County within a period of 6 months. The FIFA standard stadium will be ready to host local and international football matches," governor Sonko's tweet reads.

The construction of the stadium had however stalled due to a report that is yet to be released by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission that had seen carpeting temporarily stopped.

Governor Sonko has earlier noted that the wrangles involving the investigation was because they used steel instead of concrete as per the contract.

"Dandora stadium is the best we have, Concrete is for the olden days during the Moi era. Steel is better, there is no mistake in using steel instead of Concrete, let them complete with the investigation," governor Sonko noted.

The outspoken governor has also disclosed that his administration is also working towards renovation of City stadium as well as ready to start construction of three more stadia after Dandora is completed.

"My administration is also renovating City Stadium and will construct 3 other stadia in Kihumbuini Kangemi, Ziwani Kariokor Ward and Woodley within a period of 1 year," Mr.Sonko noted.
