Chelsea signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for just £47 million. However, the German striker has failed to replicate his performance at his previous club since coming to Stamford Bridge. He has made 43 appearances for the London-based club and only managed to score nine goals.
There is no guarantee that Thomas Tuchel plans to give Timo Werner a spot in the starting lineup especially if Romelu Lukaku is physically fit for selection. In addition to that, Timo Werner has been performing poorly when given a chance to start in the absence of Lukaku. For instance, he wasted a lot of open scoring chances against Manchester United.
Several clubs have been linked with the former RB Leipzig striker during the January transfer window. In case he leaves the club Thomas Tuchel should not spend in signing another striker. Tuchel should Broja recall from loan at Southampton. The young striker has a promising future and has already scored five goals across all competitions for Southampton this season.
