The first game of the Euros 2020 was played on Friday night with Italy Facing Turkey in Stadio Olimpico in Italy. An own goal from Merih Demiral and goals from Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne made sure that Roberto Mancini's side got a win in the Group A opener.
Even though there were a lot of impressive performances from many Italian players, football fans have not held back their admiration for the decent performance which Chelsea midfielder Jorginho did show.
Jorginho took up a position and role that will have been very typical to Chelsea fans from much of his time at Stamford Bridge, at the base of a midfield three while directing the tempo, winning back possession quickly, and launching attacks.
The 29-year-old Italian anchorman had the most interceptions(4), most tackles made (3), 100% take-on completed, 94% passing accuracy, and 92 touches. He also had 6 ball recoveries, 3 chances created, and 2 take-on.
Here are some comments from football fans regarding Jorginho's performance for Italy against Turkey;
