Kiyeng's Bronze To Kenya at the Olympics

Hyvin Kiyeng has won the bronze medal in the women's 3000 metres steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics. This is the second bronze medal that Kenya has at the 2020 Olympics. She finished third and recorded a finishing time of 09:05:39 behind the silver medalist, Court Frerich from the USA who recorded a finishing time of 09:04:79 therefore finishing second and the gold medal was won by Peruth Chemutai from Uganda who recorded a finishing time of 09:01:45.

However, it was a bad moment the world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech who managed to finish seventh in the women's 3000 metres steeplechase final. She recorded a finishing time of 09:16:33.

In 1500 metres, Faith Kipyegon finished first in the first semi final at the Tokyo Olympics. She recorded a finishing time of 03:56:80 ahead of Freweyni from Ethiopia who finished second and recorded a finishing time of 03:57:54 and at the third place was De Bues Stafford from Canada who recorded a finishing time of 03:58:28.

Kipyegon is looking forward to defeat the 5000 metres and 10000 metres gold medalist Sifan Hassan at the 1500 metres final. All the best to her.
