Al Nassr; a Saudi Arabian soccer club, confirmed the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday, putting an end to uncertainty regarding the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's future.
He will also be the highest paid footballer in the world.
Al Nassr shared a photo of Ronaldo holding up the team's shirt on social media, calling the agreement "history in the making."
"This is a signing that will not only motivate our club to greater success, but will also inspire our league, our nation, and future generations of boys and girls to be the greatest versions of themselves," the team stated.
He is coming off a disastrous World Cup in which he was benched in the knockout rounds and Portugal lost to Morocco in the quarterfinals.
The transfer to Saudi Arabia will come as a surprise especially given that Ronaldo has indicated his desire to continue playing at the highest level.
It was widely reported that he was interested in joining a Champions League club but the transfer never materialized.
Do you think moving to Al-Nassr is the right move for Ronaldo? Let us know in the comments.
