Mane led Senegal in defeating Egypt to be named the Champions of Africa for the very first time in their history. The victory was sealed through a penalty shootout. Today, the ball that was used in that final game was up for auction along other items which included autographed jerseys of Karim Benzema and Navas.
The event was held in order to help Idrissa Gueye's mission of helping children in Africa. It was graced by some of PSG's players, the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Ander Herrera and even the PSG manager, Mauricio Pochettino was available. Neymar was the highest bidder for the AFCON ball.
The wealthy athlete paid a whopping €160,000 for the ball. Converted to Kenyan currency, Neymar bought the ball that was used in the AFCON final game at Ksh19.3 million. That ball was signed by all the Senegal players who helped defeat Egypt. The money raised will be donated for charity to help kids around Africa.
